Otto Quast has dark purple flower heads topped with petal-like purple bracts that resemble butterfly wings, along with narrow, gray-green leaves that are highly aromatic. This plant is tolerant to poor soils, with well-drained sandy or gravelly soil being ideal. Great for herb gardens, rocky areas, borders and as a fragrant addition to patios. Blooming from late spring into summer, it's good to prune after the first round of blooms to encourage a second bloom. It's important to not cut into the woody part of the plant, as this can harm it. Attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Heat tolerant. Deer resistant.
