Virginia Bluebells bloom in early to mid spring and are known for their bell-shaped, sky blue flowers. The flowers start off as pink buds and slowly transition to soft blue, attracting bees and butterflies. The foliage is smooth, oval and has a bluish hue. The plant enjoys shady spots and moisture-rich areas which makes them ideal for planting near ferns. They also go completely dormant in the summer but expand slowly to form beautiful clumps that return year after year.
