A vigorous, clump-forming perennial with upright mid-green scalloped leaves. A profusion of brilliant orange flowers with prominent yellow stamens appear dancing on upright stems from late spring until the end of the summer. Thrives best in full sun but can do well in partial shade in hotter climates. Prefers well-drained soil and is drought tolerant once established. Suitable for cut flower arrangements. Deadheading can encourage reblooming. Dividing the clumps every few years can rejuvenate the plant. Attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
