Niveum is a compact perennial with small heart-shaped leaves that start off with a bronzed tint in early spring, become green as they mature and turn to a bronze-red in the fall. In early spring, this variety produces a carpet of star-shaped white flowers. It thrives in partial to full shade and ideally has well-drained but moist soil. Often planted in shaded garden beds, under tree canopies and used as ground cover. Dividing the clumps every few years can help rejuvenate them and prevent them from becoming too dense. Attracts bees. Deer and rabbit resistant.
